Christmas party, end-of-year drinks and new year gatherings
AI Christmas party and end-of-year event for teams
A Christmas party your colleagues get more out of than a canapé and a speech: an escape room you only crack with the right prompts, a pub quiz with live AI, or a carousel that gets a whole room moving at once. At your own venue, from seventeen to well over two hundred people, anywhere in the Netherlands.
A Christmas party people get something out of
Most end-of-year parties look the same: a drink, a bitterbal, a word from the board, and by eleven nobody remembers what it was about. An AI programme changes the middle section. Your team plays, puzzles and laughs — and goes home with a concrete sense of what the technology means for their own work.
It stays a party, not a training session. Nobody sits still and listens, there's no homework, and the winners get a prize. The only difference from go-karting or a cooking class is that people are still talking about it the week after.
Christmas party, end-of-year drinks or new year gathering?
In practice we run the same programme under all sorts of names: Christmas party, Christmas lunch, end-of-year drinks, winter event or a new year gathering in January. The shape does differ. A daytime Christmas celebration with the whole organisation asks for something different from an evening with a winter barbecue and partners along. Whatever you call it: we fit the programme to the evening, not the other way around.
Which format suits your group?
Group size decides this more than the theme does. A selection of what works at an end-of-year event:
- 15–40 people — AI Escape Room — teams crack puzzles by writing prompts together. Each team gets its own narrative route, so you can run several groups alongside each other without anyone copying. Note: this format needs one laptop per team.
- 8–80 people — AI Quiz Battle — a pub quiz with live AI rounds. The easiest of all to join, works well after dinner, and everyone plays on their own phone.
- 10–60 people — AI Battle Royale — teams make adverts, pitches and company songs; an AI jury and a human jury pick the winner. It ends with a prize-giving, which on a party night becomes the high point by itself.
- 80–200+ people — AI Company Day Carousel — four stations, four subgroups, everyone moving at once. No projector or screen needed, and it runs straight on into the drinks.
Does it fit into an evening programme?
The formats run two to two and a half hours. Alongside a dinner or a winter barbecue that's a substantial block, so the running order matters. Two set-ups work best in practice.
The first: the programme before dinner, with the prize-giving as the bridge into the drinks. The carousel is built for exactly that — a plenary start, four rounds, the winners announced, and on to the buffet. The second: a short block between two other parts of the day, for instance between lunch and drinks at an afternoon event. Which of the two it becomes, we decide during the intake based on your own running order.
What your venue needs to handle
We come to you: at the office, in the warehouse or at the event venue you've already booked. External catering alongside is no problem — we regularly run next to a barbecue or buffet someone else is handling.
One thing is worth knowing in advance, because it differs per format. The carousel runs entirely on participants' phones: no projector, no screens, no laptops, but four separate corners or rooms. The escape room, by contrast, needs one laptop per team. At an evening event that's the difference between arranging nothing and carrying laptops to the party. Knowing that up front means picking the right format.
A party that keeps AI on the agenda
Not every enquiry starts with “we're looking for something fun”. More and more often something else is going on: AI is taking off internally, pilots are running, and the board wants to keep the subject alive without making it yet another mandatory session. An end-of-year event is a smart place to put it. Everyone is there anyway, the mood is good, and nobody experiences it as training.
After the opposite — collaboration as the goal rather than the experience — see AI team building. If it's an outing unconnected to the end of the year, AI team outing is the better way in.
Seven formats, one goal
Pick a format — we'll shape it around your team
The group sizes per format are the sweet spot, not a ceiling: larger groups run in parallel rounds, up to 200+ participants. Not sure what fits? We'll work it out together during the intake.
