A carousel with four parallel stations

AI Company Day Carousel — a programme for large groups

Four stations, 200+ people active at the same time

Large groups of 200 participants and up, split into subgroups, rotate through four AI stations across four rounds. Low-threshold, playful and hands-on — no projector or screen needed.

  • Proven with 200 participants, and it scales further
  • Four stations: drawing, prompts, black box and quiz
  • No prior knowledge needed — everyone takes part
  • Works as a festive block at a Christmas party
  • Quiz questions tailored to your sector during the intake

How does it work?

All participants are split into four subgroups — with a full group that's around fifty people each. Every subgroup gets its own facilitator and works through all four stations in four rounds of roughly twenty-five minutes. The carousel shape keeps the energy up and the variety coming, and every subgroup experiences the complete programme.

The programme works well as an energetic block during a company day — after a morning of speakers, for instance — and runs straight on into drinks. That also makes it the format we run most often at a Christmas party or end-of-year event: the prize-giving doubles as the start of the party.

The four stations

Station 1 — Drawing vs language model

Subgroups take turns drawing on paper with pens and markers. Through a web app on their phones, an AI language model tries to guess what is being drawn. The faster the model gets it right, the more points the subgroup scores. The app keeps the scores live.

What participants experience: AI recognises patterns extremely quickly — but gets confused by abstract or deliberately misleading drawings.

Station 2 — Prompt Battle

Subgroups compete in short rounds for the best or funniest prompt on a set brief. Examples: "describe a well-known industry without naming it" or "generate the most surprising image for this theme". Participants vote on each other's entries from their phones; the subgroup with the most votes wins the round.

What participants experience: small changes in wording lead to surprisingly different results. Humour and precision both turn out to work.

Station 3 — Black Box

Participants see AI-generated text or images and work out together which personalised instructions or style settings sit behind them. No prior knowledge required — it's a guessing game with a point to it.

What participants experience: AI models respond strongly to tone, persona and style instructions. Understanding that makes you write better prompts.

Station 4 — AI Quiz Battle

A pub quiz with live AI rounds. Subgroups compete across four to eight short rounds on AI myths and questions in the style of "what did the AI actually answer?". Changing formats keep the energy high, and everyone joins in regardless of experience. Voting and scoring run through phones — no projector or screen needed.

In this case the quiz questions are tailored to your sector during the intake, so the examples are always recognisable to participants.

The programme runs about two and a half hours and is built from a plenary start, four carousel rounds with a short break, and a festive close. The times are guidelines: you choose the start, and we tune the rhythm during the intake.

Practical details

  • Space: four separate rooms or breakout corners for the stations, plus a central room for the plenary start and close — indoors or outdoors (marquees, for instance), whatever suits your venue
  • Screens: no projector or screen needed — participants use their own phones
  • Facilitation: one facilitator per subgroup; the same people handle the preparation and are your point of contact right through to the day itself
  • Materials: we bring the paper and markers for station 1
  • Web app: station 1 uses a mobile web app that processes the drawing task and keeps the scores live
  • Intake: during a preparation call we tune the station 4 quiz questions to your sector

Frequently asked questions

What if someone doesn't have a smartphone? Participants simply pair up with a teammate; there are always enough phones within a subgroup.

Do we need wifi at the venue? Yes, a stable wifi or 4G/5G connection is needed for the web app and the voting. We check this with the venue during the preparation.

Can the programme be shorter or longer? The format runs about two and a half hours as standard and works as an energetic afternoon or daytime block. We can shorten it or extend it — we'll agree that during the intake. For a longer day with more depth, have a look at the AI Inspiration Session or the full workshop overview.

How far in advance do we need the intake? Allow at least two weeks before the day, so the quiz questions and the web app can be tuned and tested in time.

Which teams is this for?

Companies looking for an energetic, low-threshold programme for a large group on a company day — everyone active on their own phone, no projector or screen needed.
